Blunt gears up for gubernatorial campaign

Secretary of State Matt Blunt brought his emerging gubernatorial campaign to the Missouri Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.

Blunt previewed campaign issues to the Chamber such as job losses, public education funding and medical malpractice.

When questioned about his campaign contributions, Blunt virtually announced his candidacy for governor.

Contents: We're certainly glad to have that support and appreciate those contributions. They're going to be used in an important 2004 endeavor. I think people across the state are ready for change, that's why we've been successful in soliciting that sort of support in communities all across our state.

With 13 months left to collect contributions, Blunt has raised almost $2 million dollars. From the state Capitol, I'm Christine McCarty.
