Holden says he is willing to work with Republicans

Still reeling from his party's defeat at the polls, Gov. Bob Holden says he wants to extend a hand across party lines.

Holden says he is willing to work with Republicans but he is not willing to dismiss his former priorities, public education, health care and the economy.

BITE " The people of Missouri did send a message regarding their concerns about the economy, and I heard it. But I did not hear them say they do not support our goals.

The state's top ranking Republican, Senator Peter Kinder, says he is willing to work with the governor.

However, Kinder says he is not sure about public support for Holden's priorities.
