MoDOT expected to discuss road building cost behind stadium project

The Cardinals' multi-million dollar stadium rebuild is on the agenda for Friday's transportation department meeting. Elizabeth Gill has the story in Jefferson City.

To build a new stadium, the on-ramp to Highway 40 would need to be rebuilt. The transportation department estimates this would cost about $12 million dollars. Department spokesman Jim Coleman says the costs have been accounted for in department's budget.

Last month, a separate state finance board earmarked more than $29 million in tax credits to cover road construction costs associated with the Stadium project. From the state Capitol, I'm Elizabeth Gill.

The Cardinal Stadium project requires that the on-ramp for Highway 40 be moved. The transportation department plans to cover those costs within their economic development budget. Coleman says the Stadium project is planned out over about 4 years, so the costs probably won't come all at once:
