House Urges University of Missouri-St. Louis to Fire Lobbyist

The House is urging the University of Missouri-St. Louis to fire its lobbyist.

The House passed an amendment to the higher education funding bill eliminating an amount equal to the salary of the lobbyist for the University of Missouri-St. Louis

The amendment, comes after allegations by St. Louis County Representative John Bowman that Elizabeth Van Umm urged him to drop out of a senate election.

Jefferson County Representative Katherine Hollingsworth questioned Bowman on the House floor about the allegations.

"Yes I am lady, that's exactly what I'm saying".

Although the decsion to terminate Van Umm is ultimately with the UM system, University of Missouri lobbyist Jim Snider says, "It was a clear message and it was recieved."
