Income tax is the target of Kirkwood Senator Michael Gibbons proposed tax reform.

Senator Gibbons says this is part of what he calls his continuing effort to end state governments tax attack on Missouri citizens.

He says the tax system's only purpose is to generate money needed to fund essential government functions.

BITE "I do not believe that it exists to transfer wealth. I do not believe it exists to create economic or social incentives."

According to Senator Gibbons revenue generated from the proposed flat tax would be identical to that of Missouri's income tax.
