A potentially crucial ally to the environmental cause in Alaska has been found in Missouri Sen. Jean Carnahan.

Nick Rummell has the story from Jefferson City.

Missouri Sen. Jean Carnahan stated Thursday that she definitively opposes oil drilling in the Alaskan reserve.

Alternative energies -- such as ethanol -- should be explored, she said.
