House Budget Cuts

Public outrage prompted one lawmaker to endorse huge cuts to the University of Missouri system budget.

Danielle Douglas has details from Jefferson City.

The House sent a message to the school's Curators by approving amendments to cut its budget by 720-thousand dollars.

The majority of cuts stem from the lawmaker's dissatisfaction with the school's TV station, K-O-M-U.

The station refused to allow students to wear flag pins on the air after September 11th.

Southwest Missouri representative Bubs Hohulin says his office was flooded with outraged letters.

By a vote of 97 to 33, the House voted to pass the cuts.

Columbia Democrat voices his concern over the House's cuts to UM's budget.

Graham says the cuts will place an unnecessary burden on those who least deserve it.
