A spokesperson for the State Health Department said several areas in Missouri have run out of the flu vaccine.

Denny said another shipment of the vaccine was ordered and scheduled to arrive around the first of December.

Physicians and health clinics were told to make sure that people over 65 years old, health care workers and those with chronic health problems get the vaccine first.

Denny said that those at risk should be sure to talk to their Doctor about the pneumococcal vaccine, which protects against serious complications that can develop from the flu.
