Roads inside St. Louis' city limits would be maintained by MoDOT under a bill filed by a former lobbyist for the city. Aaron Cummins has the story from Jefferson City--
Tom Villa used to lobby for the city. Now, he represents Southcity residents at the Capitol.
Villa's proposal would make repairs on St. Louis roads MoDOT's responsibility.
That would put the city in the same position as all the state's other counties.
Villa says he's just trying to make the system fair.
Villa faced a small amount of opposition for his plan in a Hose committee hearing.
A rural lawmaker said he feared sending more of the state's money to the St. Louis area.
