The Missouri Senate Research Division has lost half its staff in the past two months in what some Democratic Senators have agreed is an "uncertain environment."
Democrat Minority Leader Ed Quick is calling on President Pro-Tem Peter Kinder to step up to the plate and address this problem before the bill filing begins on December first.
Quick has not yet gotten his wish of Kinder stepping up to the plate, something Lieutenant Governor Joe Maxwell thinks should happen.
In the short amount of time between now and December first, the staff will seemingly be shorthanded, bringing potential problems to the Senate.
Until more are hired, five will do the work of ten to get ready for 2002's regular session.
