The State Capitol dome in Jefferson City will be lighted pink tonight as part of an international campaign to raise awareness about the disease.
Julie Kroenig has the story from Jefferson City.
3800 new cases of breast cancer will be found in Missouri this year.
To raise awareness of the disease, donations will fund the lighting of the State Capitol dome throughout the weekend.
Lynn Schlosser, Director of Government Relations for the American Cancer Society, says that the money being used to fund this was solicited specifically for this purpose.
The lighting of the dome is part of the international campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer.
More than 200 landmarks in 40 countries will be illuminated this month.
