Missouri House Republicans unveiled thier education package for this legislative session. Jenny Hoff has more from the State Capitol.
Republican representatives say education is thier top priority in the 2001 legislative session. Representatives proposed different ideas, such as using gambling tax revenue to increase teacher wages. Rebulicans also propose and offer a tutoring tax credit for parents of children in unaccredited schools.
House Republican Whip Charlie Shields says the state has to give teachers more encouragement in order relieve Missouri's teacher shortage.
The Republicans say they will use thier new Senate majority to push thier legislation. This is Jenny Hoff reporting from Jefferson City.
