Lawmakers OK new programs to help certain mothers take care of their kids. Jenny Hoff explains from Jefferson City.
The House passed a bill that establishes an advisory board to serve the needs of women in prison . . . one of those needs being child care.
Rep. Betty Thompson of St. Louis County says these programs are necessary to give children better lives.
Thompson says the advisory board will also establish programs that will help women cope with society and find jobs when they get out of prison. From Jefferson City, this is Jenny Hoff . . . KMOX news.
