The Cardinals are a step closer to getting a new stadium

A new stadium for the Cardinals could be just innings away.

A bill that would set aside sales tax generated by sales inside and related to the stadium passed 13-6 out of the House Commerce Committee.

Now, it's up to the Speaker of the House to place the bill on the calender.

Minority Floor Leader Catherine Hanaway says she hopes the bill will make it to the House floor.

A Senate committee is working on a similar bill, which has not yet been passed.
