The Chair of Appropriations thinks now is not the time to consider projects like building a new stadium for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Julie Kroenig has the story in Jefferson City.
Senator John Russell, chair of appropriations, says that new projects in St. Louis are in jeopardy due to Missouri's economic status.
Economists testified before a joint meeting of House and Senate budget writers.
The economists do not predict a promising outlook.
But they do say the economy should pick up at the beginning of 2002.
Because of these glum economic conditions, Senator John Russell says that it is not the right time to be considering the building of a new stadium.
Governor Holden has already cut over 350 million dollars from this years state budget.
From the State Capitol, this is Julie Kroenig.
