Senators try to establish commission to restore Capitol

Lawmakers are going back to the drawing board -- literally...Karyn Dest has more from Jefferson City.

St. Louis Senator Wayne Goode says there wasn't enough money to put finishing touches on the Capitol when it was built...so, he's offering up a bill to establish a new commission that will take care of restoring the Capitol.

Contents: There is quite a bit of money being spent to make some changes to the Capitol to meet the original design. These are some items that were not affordable at the time the Capitol was completed and that's being done now.

Goode says establishing the commission won't cost very much. And, he says, the money to restore the Capitol has already been appropriated so it won't affect this year's budget shortfall. Karyn Dest, KMOX News, Jefferson City.
