Possible layoffs in St. Louis may stress the state budget.

Expected layoffs in airlines may be a drain on Social Services.

Even with the possible layoffs, the deputy commissioner of the Division of Budget and Planning, Brian Long, says that everything will be done to prevent a budget shortfall.

The economy may be hit but Governor Holden plans to maintain as balanced a state budget as possible.
