The state auditor calls the contract of former MU basketball coach Norm Stewart "inappropriate." Aaron Cummins has more from Jefferson City--
Stewart was given a package of benefits that nears a million dollars when he retired last year.
Half of that comes from a consulting contract with the University.
But, Auditor Claire McCaskill says the problem is the University isn't protected if Stewart decides not to do the work.
McCaskill says that would mean a difficult court battle.
The University responded by saying they had faith in Stewart to fulfill the contract when it was written.
And, they also released a long list of Stewart's current duties at MU... mostly fund-raising activities.
