Native Americans, vetrans and other interest groups won't get specialized license plates this year according to the chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee.
Laetitia Thompson has the story from the state capitol.
Chairman Danny Staples says his decision came after a license plate bill he introduced became entangled in an abortion debate centered on a "Respect Life" license plate.
Staples says he will not allow members of the Senate to make license plates billboards for their political and religious beliefs.
Staples killed his license plate bill specifically to prevent the creation of the "Respect Life" plate.
From Jefferson City, I'm Laetitia Thompson.
