A St. Louis Republican says she wants to make life easier on prison inmates

A St. Louis Republican senator has done what you might not expect a Republican to do...make life easier on inmates.

Laetitia Thompson has the story from Jefferson City.

Republican Senator Betty Sims says she wants to reform the limited child visitation, inadequate hygiene and unhealthy diet she says the state provides for female inmates.

Sims says most female prisoners are not dangerous criminals and shouldn't be treated like men.
