A Missouri lawmaker wants to give money to schools that offer a driver's ed class. Aaron Cummins has the story from Jefferson City--
A bill sponsored by Senator John Russell would give schools $80 for every student that completes a driver's education course.
Russell says the state should encourage schools to have the class.
Russell says the bill wouldn't require schools to have the class, but would provide an incentive to offer it.
There are currently about 60,000 high school sophomores in Missouri.
That means the program would cost the state about $5 million a year if it passes.
From the state capitol, I'm Aaron Cummins for KMOX-News.
