While many politicians are making their final push to get elected, one legislator handed in her resignation.
Cara Karunaratne has more from Jefferson City.
Gracia Backer turned in her resignation as State representative of the Fulton area.
But she has a new job now...as deputy chief of staff for Governor Roger Wilson.
Backer is resuming government work after her loss to Joe Maxwell in the lieutenant governor primaries.
She says she doesn't know yet what she'll be doing after Wilson's term ends in two months.
From Jefferson City, I'm Cara Karunaratne
