The number of arrests for underage drinking has been increasing in the state of Missouri. Osamu Fujimaru has more from Jefferson City.

In 1999, the Missouri Division of Liquor Control arrested 50 percent more minors for possessing or attempting to purchase alcohol than in 1998.

Kim Baldwin, Bob Holden's campaign spokesperson, says Holden will look into the issue.

Concerning the minimum drinking age, Baldwin says Holden is not considering lowering drinking age from 21.
