A special House Committee on Solid Waste recommended extending the 50-cent per tire fee for three years beyond its expiration in the year 2001.
The fee was established in a 1990 law designed to cut production of trash.
Committee Chairman Gary Wiggins, said that law needs to be extended.
There was no opposition voiced from the comittee to extending fee.
