St. Louis County Republican senator Steve Ehlmann is speaking out against a legislative attempt to repeal term limits. Lee McGuire reports from Jefferson City.
The Republican leader is trying to stop a bill that would ask voters to undo the state's term limits law.
Ehlmann says voters made a wise decision back in 1992, when they amended the state constitution to limit lawmakers' terms to eight years:
St. Louis City Democrat O.L. Shelton is behind the push to end term limits. So far, only one lawmaker has been forced out of the legislature because of them-- Senate President Pro Tem Bill McKenna.

St. Charles Republican Senator Steve Ehlmann will be speaking out Wednesday/this morning, against an attempt to end term limits. Lee McGuire has the story from Jefferson City.
Ehlmann will join spokesmen for a group supporting term limits in calling for the defeat of a bill that would send the term limit question back to voters.
Seven years ago, Missourians elected to impose term limits on state lawmakers. Now, the House is poised to debate a bill that would ask voters once again whether lawmakers' terms should be restricted.
Ehlmann says there's no reason to bring term limits up again:
