Missouri lawyer wants accountability for drug busts

One Missouri attorney says the state should make records of drug seizures public to avoid misspending of money. Aaron Cummins has more from Jefferson City-

Randy Scherr of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys says someone needs to be accountable for money taken in drug busts.

Contents: Scherr says that at the time of any seizure an accounting of assets should take place.

Scherr says this would help avoid problems with misappropriation of money and would help ensure the money gets to schools.

A panel of Missouri lawmakers will look at possible reforms to the state policy on seizures and make suggestions to the General Assembly in January.
