Pro-concealed weapons group outspends foes 3 to 1

Campaign finance reports filed today/Tuesday indicate the concealed weapons supporters are outspending right-to-carry opponents by nearly three to one. Lee McGuire reports from Jefferson City.

Bankrolled almost entirely by the NRA, Missourians Aganist Crime raised more than two million dollars this campaign season.

That's almost three times more money than Safe Schools and Workplaces managed to raise. Spokeswoman Lauren Massey says seven hundred thousand dollars doesn't go far.

But even the right-to-carry supporters didn't raise nearly as much money as campaign observers had expected. In Jefferson City, Lee McGuire, KMOX News.

The National Rifle Association gave more than 2 million dollars to Missourians Against Crime. The NRA money was almost all the right-to-carry group had to work with.

And although Safe Schools and Workplaces got most of its cash from in-state, its biggest donation was from a Washington interest group.

Still, Safe Schools spokeswoman Lauren Massey says that doesn't go far.
