Republicans back away from party statement

intro: Some Republican legislators are distancing themselves from a Party press release that accuses Governor Carnahan of deliberately mismanaging the Highway Department's 15-Year plan. Lee McGuire has more from Jefferson City.

Franklin County Republican Representative John Griesheimer says a party press release that accuses Carnahan and the highway department of lying and intentionally sinking the 15-Year plan is out of line.

Griesheimer says the Republican Party should not have issued the statement.

And House Minority Leader Delbert Scott questioned whether it was even possible for Carnahan to have the level of influence the Republican challenge alleges. In Jefferson City, Lee McGuire, KMOX News.
