Missouri's Handicapped May Become Parking Police.

February 18, 1997
By: Jung Wha Yoon
State Capital Bureau

Misourians with physical handicaps may find relief in their search for parking spaces. Jung Wha Yoon has more from the state capitol.

Story:

A house bill under consideration would allow handicapped Missourians to issue citations to drivers parked in a space reserved for the handicapped.

Mark Ernst, of Salem, is blind and has lost both legs.

He fully supports the bill saying there are just too many illegally parked cars.

Actuality:
RunTime:
OutCue: into their hands
Contents: Ernst wants to see citizens who are denied the right to park where they assigned, be able to take matter into their own hands.

Opponents of the bill say this would lead to fights in parking lots between a handicapped person and the violator. From the state capitol, this is Jung Wha Yoon.
