Although Republicans grumble over the narrow over-ride defeat, Steve Ehlmann says Senator Betty Sims' position as Minority Whip will not change.

Meanwhile, Senator Pete Kinder who sponsored the bill banning partial-birth abortions calls Sims' decisive vote a grave mistake.

Sims, a St. Louis County Senator, says she did not allow political lines to determine her vote.

OutCue: ...I hope not.
Contents: Sims says she did not think in terms of politics, and hopes that no one believes this makes her a bad Republican.

According to Sims, a lack of specifics in the bill caused her to reject the over-ride.
