Under the proposal, a repeat sex offender could be required to receive the female hormone injection, Depro-Provera, to decrease their sex drive as consideration for parole.
Fellow Republican, Kirkwood Representative Mike Gibbons supported Chemical Castration.
The bill with the Chemical Castration requirement was passed by the House and returned to the Senate for a final review of the idea.

The measure would allow a convicted sexual offender to agree to undergo a chemically induced sex-drive reduction by receiving routine shots of the female hormone Depro-Provera.
Kirkwood Rep. Michael Gibbons was among the lawmakers who voted in support of the idea.Sexual offenders who agree to the female hormone as a parole condition would be required to receive the shots for life.
The measure now awaits a final Senate review.
