Sick of salt on winter roads erroding your car? The Missouri Transportation Department has the answer.
Rebecca Sapakie has more at the Capitol.
A new brine saltwater solution will keep you from slipping on slick winter roads and keep your car from accumulating so much rust.
The treatment currently used is twice as harmful to roads and cars as this new solution and costs ten times as much.
Mike Right is a spokesman for Missouri AAA (triple "A") headquartered in St. Louis. He says everybody wins with this new mixture.
The new saltwater solution keeps roads from icing during snow storms for 2 to 8 hours. That may be good news this El Nino winter.
I'm Rebecca Sapakie in Jefferson City.
