House votes to perfect managed care bill

The missouri house gave priliminary approval to a measure that would give you more rights in dealing with HMOs.

On the last day before the legislature recessed for Easter break, the house passed the managed care bill by a wide margin.

According to the bill sponsor Tim Harlan, currently 17 other states have adopted similar legislation regulating the managed care industry.

Harlan said that it was time for government to step in and protect the people.

The bill must pass one more formal vote in the house before it goes to the senate for final approval.
