Last Thursday, the House passed a resolution to kill pay raises for legislators.

Now the Senate has started debate on the resolution.

Democratic State Senator Ken Jacob, who supports a pay raise, threatens a filibuster in the next six legislative days.

Contents: Most legislators think a filibuster is likely.

A filibuster would prevent the resolution from coming to a vote.

In order to defeat the pay raise, the Senate must vote by February 1st.
