House Resolution would outlaw campaign contributions from gambling industry

A Louisiana resident urged Missouri lawmakers to keep money from the gambling industry out of campaigns and elections. Mary Jackson has the story from the state capitol.

Diana Jenkins, wife of a Louisiana legislator, came to Jefferson city to testify in support of a house joint resolution.

The resolution would outlaw campaign contributions from employees, owners and corporations affiliated with the gambling industry.

Contents: "I hope, for goodness sakes, it'll never happen here, but I've watched it happen in my state. I watched the bribes, and I'm now watching the men and women participating in it going to prison."

Jenkins said any money from the gambling industry would strangle any opportunity for good government.

No one testified against the resolution.
