Auto Exhaust Inspection Program Gets $4.5 Million

The House Senate Conference committee finally comprommised on the amount of money that will be spent on cleaning up the air in St. Louis. Jung Wha Yoon has more from Jefferson City.

The committee has decided to set aside about four million dollars for an enhanced automibile exhaust inspection program.

The program calls for a centralized inspection station with sophisticated equipment.

House budget committee chair Sheila Lumpe says it will eliminate the potential for fraud.

Lumpe originally wanted more money set aside for the program but says she compromised on the lower sum in order to move the program along.
