Child Support Bill Meets Lawyer Opposition

A bill introduced to Missouri's Child Support committee met some opposition from local prosecuting attorneys. Jennifer Horton explains from the state capital.

A federal mandate requires Missouri to pass legislation speeding up child support collection.

A bill proposed by St. Louis Rep. Pat Dougherty would allow the state's division of child support to get the money faster.

But.. Assistant Prosecutor, Dennis Tisucamp, says the bill would overburden the child support offices.
