The Missouri legislature has passed a major health care bill to require insurance policies to cover a minimum 48-hour post-delivery hospital stay for mothers. House sponsor Glenda Kelly says the measure combats so-called drive-by childbirths, where women are shoved out of the hospital before they've had time to recover.

The governor says the bill would increase options for women and ensure their babies get off to a good start. Kelly is reasonably certain he will sign the bill into law.
