Members of the House and Senate have sent a bill to the Governor requiring athletic agents to register with the Secretary of State's office.

Boone County representative, Tim Harlan says when agents and students keep professional contracts a secret, it's possible for M-U to break the rules without knowing it.

He says his bill ensures that students who have lost eligibility don't continue to play for the university.

With any violation of N-C-double-A rules, intentional or not...the university faces punishment ranging from missing games to losing an athletic program.

The bill now goes to Governor Mel Carnahan.
