Missouri's Funeral Directors, incensed by a colleague who burned human fetuses like garbage, want new cremation laws, Jack Dolan has the story from Jefferson City.
Last week the Kansas City Star reported that a Missouri Funeral home was burning corpses of stillborn babies in garbage bags. Now Funeral Directors are lobbying for a law requiring all human remains be treated with dignity and respect. But Greg Russell, from the Missouri Funeral Director's association, says that dignity doesn't necessarily have to come with a hefty price tag.
Russell says he would not, however, support a state law requiring licensed funeral homes to provide free cremation of stillborns.
From Jefferson City, I'm Jack Dolan.
